About this template
The Quill template is a senior letter that mimics a hand-quilled page: Caslon Italic for the name in flowing contoured strokes, Caslon Regular for the body, sepia ink on cream paper. Reads as the work of a senior adviser attached to the craft. Compatible with the ATS systems of cultural institutions (Workday at the British Library, the Bodleian, the Metropolitan Museum, the Royal Society) and heritage publishing houses.
Who is it for?
It suits senior executives applying to literary trusts, classical-orchestra boards (London Symphony Orchestra, Berliner Philharmoniker, New York Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw), heritage bookshop chains (Hatchards, Daunt Books, Maggs Bros), monastic publishing houses and learned-society presidencies (Royal Society, American Philosophical Society, British Academy). Trustees, orchestra-board candidates, foundation directors and senior cultural advisers. Out of place in tech, modern finance or fast-growth commercial sectors.
How to use it
The Caslon Italic name must preserve its Renaissance drawing — resist any bold or shadow setting. The hook may open on a classical citation (a line of Virgil, Milton, Shakespeare) provided it is pertinent to the mandate. Paragraph 2 cites your publications, conferences or curated exhibitions in editorial shorthand. A handwritten signature with a quill, in sepia ink, scanned at 600 dpi, completes the register — resist any "handwriting-simulation" typeface.
