About this template
The Glitch Art template assumes a cyberpunk aesthetic: VT323 monospace, neon cyan/magenta/yellow chromatic offsets, scanlines and ▌ system markers. The page reads as a console output after an intentional error — the glitch is not a defect, it is the medium. It is not an ATS-safe CV and does not pretend to be: it is built for a creative coder, a media-art festival curator or an indie studio director who has spoken this visual code since the Geocities years. The format clears the human filters of net-art studios, post-internet collectives, festivals (Ars Electronica, Transmediale, ISEA, FILE) and residency programmes (Rhizome, Eyebeam, Pioneer Works, NEW INC, V2_ Rotterdam, IMAL Brussels).
Who is it for?
For digital artists, NFT creators (assumed, not opportunistic), generative-art programmers (Processing, p5.js, openFrameworks, TouchDesigner, Notch, Hydra), game designers, demoscene veterans and creative coders applying to FIELD Berlin, Resn, Active Theory, Onformative, Universal Everything, Marshmallow Laser Feast, Random Studio Amsterdam, as well as the French studios Joanie Lemercier studio, Plan8 and NoOddity. Suited to alumni of Goldsmiths Computational Arts MA, MIT Media Lab, ITP NYU, RCA Information Experience Design, UCLA Design Media Arts and Le Fresnoy National Studio, and to residents of Eyebeam, Pioneer Works, Rhizome and the Internet Archive. Avoid for any role where the recruiter expects a clean, uneventful CV — the glitch will be read as a defect, not as a position.
How to use it
Place the portfolio URL in the header with a personal domain — mandatory; no Behance or Instagram for this profile, the format would land badly there. Prefer a one-page site with hash anchors, or a curated Are.na page in blocks. In the Works section, list 5-8 marquee works with the title, the exact technical medium (« generative p5.js, 60 fps, 1080p × 3 synced screens »), the presentation context (festival, platform, collection) and the year. For works in private NFT collections, name the platform (fxhash, Art Blocks Curated, Verse) and the series — without naming the acquiring wallet. Portfolio coherence is expected: a site that stands by the same glitch aesthetic as the CV, not a corporate Webflow template. Long-tail: « freelance generative artist CV », « creative coder CV », « Le Fresnoy designer CV », « Eyebeam resident CV », « fxhash NFT artist CV ».
Frequently asked questions
Should NFT sales or drops be listed in the Works section?
Name the platform (fxhash, Art Blocks Curated, Verse, Foundation) and the series with the number of editions and the curatorial context, not the ETH or USD amounts. Serious curators (Verse, fxhash curators) immediately spot a candidate who talks financial volume rather than work. For drops on less curatorially-driven platforms (Manifold, Zora), keep it sober — curatorial significance ranks above transaction volume. An Art Blocks Curated sale weighs more than a Manifold drop at 50 cumulative ETH.
Does the template handle extended Unicode characters (▌, ▓, ░, ▒)?
Yes; the template embeds VT323 with an IBM Plex Mono fallback covering the Unicode Block Elements. After PDF export, verify that the characters render properly (some older PDF readers may show empty squares). If the recipient is an identified studio (FIELD, Random Studio), a PDF test on a colleague's recent Adobe Reader is enough. For platform applications (Greenhouse, Lever), block characters can break parsing — in that case, prefer sending the PDF as an attachment to a human-addressed email rather than going through the platform.
Does the template suit an application to a AAA game studio (Naughty Dog, Rockstar, Ubisoft)?
No for established AAA studios (Naughty Dog, Rockstar North, Ubisoft Montréal, Quantic Dream, DontNod, Asobo Studio) which expect a CV calibrated to industry standards (Greenhouse ATS, LinkedIn-friendly format). The template works very well, however, for indie studios (Motion Twin, Sloclap, The Game Bakers, Spiders, Coffee Stain, Sokpop), experimental studios (Tale of Tales heritage, Strange Loop Games, Hempuli) and for technical artist / shader artist profiles that stand by a strong visual signature.
