About this template

The ATS Architect template is a professional CV with a structural ATS layout in Archivo, charcoal palette and architectural precision in spacing. Section labels read like blueprint annotations — every line aligned, every margin deliberate. The format passes the Workday, SuccessFactors and Lever ATS used by architecture firms, engineering consultancies (AECOM, Arup, Jacobs, Mott MacDonald, WSP, Stantec) and major civil engineering groups (Skanska, Bechtel, Turner Construction, Lendlease).

Who is it for?

It suits licensed architects (AIA, RIBA, registered with ARB or NCARB), structural and civil engineers (PE, CEng MICE, EUR ING), urban planners with AICP or RTPI credentials, BIM coordinators and design-build project leads. Also adapted to construction and infrastructure project managers applying to signature practices (Foster + Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects, BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group, SOM, KPF, Gensler, Diller Scofidio + Renfro).

How to use it

Four blocks structure the document — Flagship projects (with client, programme, gross floor area in sqft or sqm, construction cost), Tools mastered (Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, LEED/BREEAM/WELL credentials), Awards and competitions (AIA Honor Award, RIBA Stirling Prize, Pritzker, Mies van der Rohe Award), Education. For each project, state your exact role (lead designer, project architect, BIM manager) and the phase (concept, schematic, design development, construction documents, construction administration). Long-tail: « registered architect CV », « structural engineer resume template », « BIM coordinator CV », « construction project manager resume », « urban planner AICP CV ».

Frequently asked questions

Should I list construction cost and gross floor area for each project?

Yes, it is expected by firm recruiters. Indicate the programme (residential, commercial, public, industrial), the gross floor area (sqft or sqm), the construction cost in $m and the client (public agency or private developer). For competitions where you did not win but were distinguished, mention the rank (honourable mention, second prize) — it is valued by chief architects who know the effort involved.

How should I present a LEED, BREEAM or WELL credential?

List the credential body (USGBC for LEED, BRE for BREEAM, IWBI for WELL), the level achieved (LEED AP BD+C, ID+C, O+M; BREEAM AP; WELL AP) and the year of certification. For ISO 19650 BIM Manager certification, specify the level (Foundation, Practitioner, Master) and the awarding body (Buildwise, BSI, AFNOR). These credentials are screening criteria at AECOM, Arup, Jacobs and the major contractors.

Does the template work for an international application (UK, Switzerland, Germany)?

Yes, particularly for European signature practices (Foster + Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects, BIG, Herzog & de Meuron, Snøhetta). For these applications, translate US licensure into international equivalents (NCARB → ARB UK registration, AIA → RIBA Chartered Member), add your registration with the architects' board of the target country if effective, and state the dominant working language (English C1/C2, German B2).
