About this template
The Spain template is a Spanish CV in Lato on two A4 pages, opening with a personal data block and a brief perfil profesional of three or four lines. Languages graded on the MCER A1–C2 scale, photo upper right and a discreet rojo Madrid accent on section titles. Suits English-speaking candidates targeting Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao.
Who is it for?
It fits candidates targeting Spain — Madrid (banking, finance, telecoms), Barcelona (fashion, tourism, tech), Valencia (logistics, agribusiness), Bilbao (industry, banking) — in banking (Santander, BBVA, CaixaBank, Bankinter), telecoms (Telefónica), IBEX 35 groups (Iberdrola, Repsol, Inditex), public administration and the 22@ startup scene (Glovo, Cabify, Wallapop, TravelPerk). Junior to senior profiles where perfil profesional, photo and MCER grid for languages read as standard professionalism signals.
How to use it
The Datos personales block opens the document: name, date of birth, city, marital status, driving licence. The perfil profesional runs three to four lines in synthesis. Photo upper right. Reverse chronology on Experiencia profesional. The Idiomas block notes English (C2 native), French, Spanish in MCER. For a Madrid banking role (Santander, BBVA), mention EFA, EFP, CFA certifications if applicable. For Barcelona tech (Glovo, Cabify), list the stack and agile methodologies. Registration with the relevant Colegio profesional is expected for regulated professions (Colegio de Ingenieros, Colegio de Médicos).
Frequently asked questions
Is Spanish indispensable for Madrid?
For banking (Santander, BBVA), administration and most IBEX 35 groups, yes — minimum C1 Spanish. For Barcelona tech (Glovo, Cabify, TravelPerk) and international subsidiaries (Amazon Madrid, Microsoft Barcelona), English may suffice for the technical function, but Spanish remains an integration asset. For public service, native or C2 Spanish is mandatory.
Is Catalan an asset in Barcelona?
For Catalan public administrations (Generalitat, Ajuntament de Barcelona) and certain traditional Catalan companies, yes — it is even a requirement. For scaleups (Glovo, TravelPerk, Wallapop) and international subsidiaries, Spanish suffices. Mention Catalan in languages if you master it: « Catalán: B2 (conversacional) ».
Is a photo needed?
Yes by default, in the upper-right corner. The photo remains a strong Spanish convention, particularly in banking, retail and administration. Modern startups (Glovo, Cabify) now tolerate the no-photo CV. Passport format, plain background, business casual attire.
