About this template
The USA Executive template is an executive variant of the American CV in Georgia with a deep navy band and a value sentence under the name. Two-page structure with executive summary, P&L impact bullets and a board-ready section for governance roles and director mandates. Reserved for C-suite candidates and board candidates.
Who is it for?
It fits C-suite candidates and senior executives targeting the American market — CEO, CFO, COO, division presidents and board candidates applying to large American companies (Fortune 500, Russell 3000, S&P 500) or LBO-backed companies (KKR, Blackstone, Carlyle portfolio companies). Designed for profiles whose track record is measured in revenue, EBITDA delta and scaled headcount rather than in mastered tools.
How to use it
The opening executive summary runs five to seven lines: career pattern, cumulative P&L scope (in USD), geographies, transformation sectors, significant deals (IPO, M&A, LBO exits). The Board and Committee Experience section lists each mandate with dates, type (Board Chair, Lead Director, Audit Committee Chair, Comp Committee Chair), and nature (NYSE-listed, NASDAQ-listed, PE-backed private, family-owned, nonprofit). Mention governance certifications (NACD Directorship Certified, Stanford Directors' College). Indicate applicable regulatory classifications (SEC SOX compliance for CFOs, FDA submissions for healthcare execs).
Frequently asked questions
Is NACD Directorship Certified indispensable?
Not mandatory, but it has become a standard for NEDs of NYSE and NASDAQ listed companies. The NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) delivers the Directorship Certified certification after training and examination — it is a governance seriousness marker read by US headhunters (Spencer Stuart, Russell Reynolds, Egon Zehnder New York). Mention it under the name.
Two pages — really tolerated at US executive level?
Yes for CEO, CFO, COO profiles and Fortune 500 board candidates — deal detail (IPO, M&A, divestitures) and board mandates justify the extension. For SVP / VP profiles targeting a C-suite promotion, stay on USA Standard strictly one page. The distinction is clear for headhunters: two pages signal a board-ready profile, one page a senior operational profile.
How to position European experience for a US board?
Specify the equivalence of structures and regulation: « Member of Supervisory Board of a EUR 4.5 bn revenue, Paris-listed manufacturer (CAC 40), supervised by AMF and EU Market Abuse Regulation ». Fortune 500 US boards with international exposure (Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Apple, Microsoft) value cross-border experience, particularly for audit committees and international strategy.
