About this template
The Scandinavia Compact template is a one-page variant of the Nordic CV in IBM Plex Sans, with a tightened sammendrag/sammanfattning in three lines and a condensed reverse-chronological experience block. Nordic-blue accent on rules, no photo, languages on CEFR. The compactness answers an explicit demand from Nordic recruiters at mid and late career who prefer concision over exhaustiveness — the culture of precision rather than volume.
Who is it for?
For Nordic mid and late-career candidates (10+ years) who want to fit on a single page. Project managers at Volvo Group, Saab, Maersk Logistics, engineers at Equinor, Ørsted, Vestas, Norsk Hydro, public-sector specialists (Statens Vegvesen, Trafikverket, Vejdirektoratet, Liikennevirasto) and senior consultants in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki at McKinsey Nordics, BCG Stockholm, Bain Copenhagen and Implement Consulting Group. Suitable for Capgemini Nordics, Accenture, KPMG, EY Nordics profiles who want a CV that immediately passes the local recruiter filter trained on the one-pager.
How to use it
The sammendrag sticks strictly to three lines: career pattern, sector expertise, value delivered. Reverse chronological with at most one quantified bullet per role to fit one page. No photo, no birth date. For senior consultant profiles, indicate internal seniority grade (Senior Manager, Principal, Partner Track at McKinsey; Project Leader, Senior Manager at BCG). For engineers at Equinor, Vestas and Ørsted, mention industrial certifications (NORSOK for oil & gas, IEC 61400 for wind, ISO 14001 for environmental). For the Scandinavian public sector, list missions by ministry or agency with dates and budget perimeter managed. Long-tail: "project manager Volvo CV", "senior consultant McKinsey Stockholm resume", "Equinor engineer one-pager CV", "Ørsted project manager CV", "partner track Bain Copenhagen CV".
Frequently asked questions
Is one page really standard for a Nordic senior?
Yes, especially for consulting and industrial profiles. The Nordic culture of precision and "lagom" values a CV that condenses the essential — a second page is often perceived as a lack of synthesis. For academic profiles with publications (academics, scientists at Karolinska, NTNU, Aalto) and executive profiles (CEO, koncernchef), two pages remain tolerated with a very condensed structure. But for Scandinavian corporate (banking, energy, consulting, scaleups), the one-pager remains the standard.
How do you condense an international 15-year career onto one page?
List the last 4-5 missions with one quantified bullet each. Earlier missions (>10 years) condense into one line: "Earlier experience: Senior Manager — Accenture Sweden (2010-2015), Consultant — Capgemini Norway (2008-2010)". For international profiles having worked in Asia, North America or the Middle East, a per-geography mention suffices ("3 years in Asia-Pacific at Maersk Singapore, leading supply chain transformation"). Nordic concision values recent depth.
Should diplomas obtained more than 15 years ago be cited?
Yes for the main diploma (master KTH, Lund, NTNU, CBS, Aalto) which remains a marker of network and pipeline in the Nordic market. Secondary diplomas (continuing education, old certifications) can be omitted or grouped into one line: "Continuing education: Executive Education INSEAD 2018, AMP Harvard Business School 2020". For senior consultant profiles, an INSEAD or Harvard MBA remains cited because it continues to open doors even 15 years later.
